Ballston Lake, NY – March 14, 2005 - ADAKsystems LLC
a local provider of business solutions for manufacturers, today announced
their newest product, “Remote Assembly Vendor.” Release
1.0 provides manufacturers with a consolidated view of
off-site inventory held by their remote assembly vendors.
It allows those
vendors to report
production of assemblies and at the same time reduce
component inventory based on the released bill of material
quantities. Finally, the manufacturer
can direct the remote assembly vendor to ship completed
units to their customers, back to the manufacturer or
to another remote assembly vendor.
This product communicates over the internet and requires
minimal user training.
Michael Lobsinger, Chief Technology Officer of Orca Gear, a beta user,
says, “Being a small start-up with needs to bring our product to market quickly, we depend on contracted resources to produce our product. We needed a platform that allowed us the needed control of our manufacturing anywhere in the world, while offering a simple interface to our vendors without requiring them to understand the full functionality of an integrated manufacturing resource planning (MRP) system. Remote Assembly Vendor or “RAV” provided us this type of platform.”
Chris Trow, president of ADAKsystems, explained, “This is the first step for ADAKsystems to extend our flagship product, Resource Planner, to support a virtual manufacturing enterprise, where business units around the world can add value under the coordinated control of a central planner. We plan to further extend Resource Planner functionality to allow remote access by various users, customers, and vendors to more effectively communicate and manage the supply chain.
